Great Quotes

It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. ~Samuel Adams

Random Thoughts on a Rainy Saturday

Global Warming Scam
So Al Gore is begging for serious energy taxes again claiming it's the end of the world as we know it and it simply will not be stopped until we pay the government more money for the use of our energy (which will somehow slow down the earth's spinning out of control and keep it from the abyss that is coming). Read the following from the AP:

But former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., argued that the Democratic proposal to reduce greenhouse gases would "punish the American people" by imposing higher energy costs and threatening jobs.

"This bill is an energy tax," Gingrich said. "An energy tax punishes senior citizens, it punishes rural Americans, if you use electricity it punishes you. This bill will increase your cost of living and may kill your job."

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee that is writing the bill, shot back that Gingrich was resorting to "the old scare tactics" designed to undermine any congressional effort to address the problem.

"When American people hear the statements you have made today, they get scared, which I think is exactly what is intended," a visibly angry Waxman told Gingrich, a potential presidential contender in 2012 and a leading voice of the GOP.

Here's what I don't get. If Global Warming, or Climate Change, or whatever it is we're calling it these days is such a gigantic threat, does anyone really think that the Republicans want us to burn alive...or freeze to death or whatever catastrophic event is supposed to take place? The idea that those against excessive taxes on things that have no hope of affecting the weather are somehow mad as hatters and don't care about the planet is absurd. We live on this rock too. And Henry Waxman has the nerve to say the Republicans are using scare tactics?!? Who are the people who are telling us every day that NYC is going to be covered by a tidal wave? What would you call that? The politics of hope? There was a study done the other day that said one in 3 children (or something like that) fear the world is going to end in their lifetime due to the actual scare-tactics of liberal teachers.

We must ask ourselves, who stands to benefit from all the Climate Change policy? Who are the people asking for cap and trade policy? Carbon offset credits? Energy taxes...where is the money going? The government...run by Democrats. So what do the Republicans have to gain by resisting the excessive taxes on the people? Nothing but gratitude of the people. But on the flipside, if the Democrats win this one, there will be billions of dollars flowing into the coffers again from the overtaxed and underpaid tax-slave.

Members of the scientific community who have conflicting views with Al Gore on what causes Climate Change are growing every day. 600 of them signed a letter decrying the whole theory as bunk. And yet, our lovely Democratic and open-minded congress wouldn't allow one skeptic to speak alongside Al Gore.

Could it be that they are worried their get-rich-quick-on the American taxpayer-scheme would be found out? Seriously folks, be honest. Who's going to gain by you swallowing this global catastrophe stuff?

SWINE FLU
More great stuff being exported from Mexico. People are dropping like flies. It is said that even Obama was exposed. If Obama does come down with the terrible swine infliction, the only good result would be that maybe the Democrats could start to understand why we need to CLOSE OUR BORDERS. The resurgence of TB wasn't enough. The gang members and illegal dope dealers weren't enough...maybe losing one of their own to a third-world plague will do it.

BYE BYE PONTIAC
My husband is going to shed a few tears over this one. Sorry, honey. You're going to have to settle for a classic Firebird now.

THE SAD TALE OF HENRIETTA HUGHES
It should come as no surprise to anyone that the lady who cried about being homeless to Obama and received a house to live in for FREE is still unable to pay her bills and will be homeless again soon. There's a great sob story about her plight here. I don't believe for one minute that with her instant fame in this Youtube world, someone hasn't wanted to hire her to do something. It just goes to show that if you give a woman a fish she'll eat for a day and then go hungry again.

JANET NAPALITANO'S HAIR
I realize that there are other things to worry about with this woman (?) but has anyone ever seen a less flattering haircut? I had gym teachers with better haircuts...and they were men. Maybe it's the haircut that is causing her to be unable to concentrate on things like facts, which is why she keeps flubbing them. She thinks the 9/11 terrorists came from Canada and that U.S. Veterans are a threat to national security! Maybe she's just crazy. Sure looks like it with that 'do. My favorite part about the above article is when she apologized for the right-wing extremist document...getting out to the public. She didn't apologize for what was in it, that anyone with a "choose life" bumper sticker is now being watched by black helicopters, but that the public got wind of it. Napalitano is a badly-coiffed nightmare in the making. Watch out for this one. I have visions of Ruby Ridge part deux.

ANN COULTER
My sympathy goes out to Ann whose mother died recently. She's written a really good eulogy here. I also have always described my mother as my biggest fan, and she is. Sometimes I wonder if I do the things I do just to impress her. What will I do when she's gone? I love you mom. You're an inspiration to all your girls.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I LOVED your comments on the "Stuff white people like" list. Also I love your bio....

"Her goals include defeating liberalism's influence over America's children in the public sector and finding the perfect summer sandal (a quest that is so far unsuccessful)."

Oh man, that's what I'm talking about!
