Great Quotes

It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. ~Samuel Adams

Pirate Update

The Washington AP is reporting that the captain held hostage by the islamo-pirates tried to escape around midnight by jumping overboard and swimming. And still not one shot fired. They guy risks his life to escape and give the military a free shot at the floating terror group and the Navy allowed him to be recaptured by the pirates. Why weren't the SEALS in the water already? What is going on here? This delay in action has allowed for more pirate ships to come to the rescue hauling over 50 hostages from many different countries with them. Now it's an international incident. If we make a move now, and hostages die, it's our fault. This should never have been allowed to happen. The president still hasn't said anything on the situation. All we are getting from the White House is that he's "getting updates." Yeah? Well so are the rest of us! Maybe we should be the president if that's all we have to do is get "updated". Dude, I read Drudge....I guess I'm qualified to be the president! Hey Freshman!!! We have a crisis here....you need to DO SOMETHING.

This is a perfect example of how liberals, when faced with real danger, freeze and become useless. They can't stop thinking and analyzing how it's going to play in the press or affect their legacy long enough to stop an escalating danger. These are the people you put in charge. Thanks again to all of you hopey-changey dreamers who thought this was a good way to go. Let's dismantle our military, cut all their funding, scrap their defenses, allow North Korea and Iran to go nuclear while we lay down our arms and party with the Butcher of Cuba....that sounds like a good idea. We're so paralyzed that a rowboat full of malnourished, dentally-impaired followers of Mohammed (a plague of herpes be upon him) has brought our entire armed forces to a halt.

If you live near DC, Chicago, NY or LA, I would advise you to consider moving out now. Al Qaeda is watching and laughing their turbans off at our weak nation. Now is the time to hit the paralyzed infidel and cause infinitely more chaos than a couple of smarmy pirates in a rowboat can do. How's a dirty bomb strike you?

Intolerant Fox idea number 2-lob bacon into the boat with one of those potato shooters covering every man in the boat. Then inform them that if they don't release the captain we will open fire and send them all into eternity contaminated with pork fat.

Hi Megan
As a libertarian I hold both partied to blame...2008 saw an increase in piracy and GWB did nothing

http://www.icc-ccs.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=332:imb-reports-unprecedented-rise-in-maritime-hijackings&catid=60:news&Itemid=51

"The ICC International Maritime Bureau (IMB) Piracy Reporting Centre (PRC) has today released its annual piracy report which shows an unprecedented rise in maritime hijacking in 2008. The 2008 figures surpass all figures for hijacked vessels and hostages taken recorded by the PRC since it began its worldwide reporting function in 1992.

In 2008 there was a worldwide total of 293 incidents of piracy against ships, which is up more than 11% from 2007 when there were 263 incidents reported. In 2008, 49 vessels were hijacked, 889 crew taken hostage and a further 46 vessels reported being fired upon. A total of 32 crew members were injured, 11 killed and 21 missing – presumed dead. Guns were used in 139 incidents, up from 72 in 2007."

Rush played a soundbite of Hitlery talking about the pirates, and she literally burst out laughing in that unescapeable cackle of hers, as she was telling the audience how we would take care of this.... we are living in Bizarroworld...

Hey Bob...this was the first time an American crew had been taken. I have no doubt that if it had happened while Bush was in office he would not have hesitated for 5 days to act! Let's be real here. If a Chinese boat is taken hostage that's a Chinese problem. I'm not in favor of being the world's police officer until it threatens our citizens. It is now officially our problem. And that happened under Obama's watch. Sorry, you can't lay this one on Bush.
