- I haven't had much to say lately. I've just been browsing and reading. Here's an article by Pat Buchanan that every one of you people who keep willfully misunderstanding Marxism/socialism should read. And please spare me the attacks on Buchanan. Just read the article and pretend it was written by someone you don't think is a Nazi.
PLEASE DO SO NOW. - I also have been highly alarmed at the rumors going around about people being dragged into questioning for "statements" made about Obama. A story I read the other day, which has now mysteriously disappeared but I know I wasn't dreaming, had someone arrested for making "statements" on their MySpace page about Obama...but the statements were not racial in nature and they also did not specify if they were threatening. This leads me to wonder if they were simply critical. Is that where we're headed? Is criticizing the new Overlord of America going to be a crime now? Scary. If I disappear... Obama did it. Call someone.
- What the hell is up with David "Sarah Palin is a fatal cancer" Brooks? He and Peggy Noonan have got to go. I wish they'd just go over to the dark side already and make it official with a big fat "D" after their names. I don't want to claim either of them anymore. I sometimes wish all media types had to wear their latest political vote around their necks so we could all see which point of view they're coming from. I'm tired of the subterfuge.
- And can we make the "moderate Republicans" get their own party already? Instead of the real conservatives who make up the majority of the Republican party leaving, let's make them go and start their own 3rd party destined to lose in every election going forward.
- Thanksgiving is coming. That wonderful time of year when we get together with relatives and yell at each other. I feel sorry for anyone who has a politically mixed family. Luckily for me, there are only one or two, who generally keep quiet for fear of being forced to sit outside to eat their turkey in the snow. Okay, that's harsh. We don't really do that. We would simply give their dinner to someone else who wants it in the spirit of spreading the wealth. I'm looking forward to any Thanksgiving tales of choking gloating in-laws over the election...so please email me your stories. I'll post them. :) I won't have any myself. My in-laws are sane.
- Thanksgiving reminds me of Christmas. Did you know there's Christmas music 24/7 already in every store and on 93.9 The Lite? I thought that would annoy me, but I'm loving it. How much do you want to bet that the lawsuits against Christmas carols in public schools will begin on December 1st?
- A friend of my husband's was told by a gun shop owner in Missouri not to bother applying for a conceal carry permit. He heard through the grapevine they are losing their conceal carry rights soon. Hmmmmm...wonder if it coincides with inauguration day? I predict a widespread crime wave in the states that lose their conceal carry rights. It's a free-for-all for felons! Go get those innocent victims! They won't be armed!
- I'm sure some of you wonder why I call myself the Intolerant Fox. I used to have an explanation on the page but it was too long. So I'll explain it again. Liberals think that tolerance is the Holy Grail. It is what they strive for, so they say. They want us to be tolerant of all forms of nonsense. Gay marriage, trannies barging into churches and grossing out the congregation while shouting "JESUS was GAY", art displays of elephant dung spread over a painting of the Virgin Mary, art displays of Christ soaking in urine, fire-bombing of animal testing sites, pedophiles who start clubs for pedophiles, guys on death row....and yet, they cannot tolerate the sweet sound of Silent Night sung by 3rd graders in a public school. It's truly absurd. So I'm just saying it the way it is. I am intolerant of their intolerance. I simply won't stand for it. If I have to put up with Jesus Christ depicted in a jar of urine for the sake of "art", then I think they can stand to hear little children singing about that same Christ in a positive way.

- What's with the Queer-Terrorists? A friend of mine and I argue about this constantly. He says, they simply want to be legally recognized by the state and granted the same rights as married couples. Yet, in California, where civil union was recognized prior to all this gay marriage brouhaha, they weren't satisfied! They do NOT want recognition by the state, they want recognition by the CHURCH! And they want to take the word marriage and include themselves in the definition. It's as if they now want the word "red" to mean "red and blue". A majority of Americans are perfectly willing to grant the gays civil unions that would afford them all the benefits of marriage. What we will not do is give them a tradition to stomp all over. It should tell you something that they will not take this offering. It isn't equality they are after, but infiltration into institutions that have every right to resist. We are not willing to accept their rewrite of the Bible. Sorry, Princess...take that argument and your fierce attitude somewhere else. Would you explain to me why you have to have the word "marriage" attached to your gay union? What's next? Are the Wicans going to insist we tear out the pages in the Bible about witchcraft being a sin too? How about the adulterers? I bet they'd love to get church sanction on their activities. Or how about cheating CEOs? Should we just scratch out that commandment too? Where does it end? Where's the tolerance for religious freedom? Only you can have religious freedom...but not me? Oh right, because I'm a Christian. You know, as a Christian, I should add, I've got nothing but love for the queer community. They're God's children too...but I disagree folks. Take it how you will. I disagree, strongly. Let's respect each other's traditions okay? I won't try and stop your Oscar night bashes and Rosemary Clooney tribute parties if you don't try to rip marriage traditions to shreds okay? (fyi, I've been to both of those events in the homes of my gay friends, btw, and they were pretty fabulous.) I know I'm going to be misunderstood here, so let me head it off. I have gay friends who are dear to me. I am no homophobe. And anyone who accuses me of being one is willfully ignoring my words. I agree that gay couples should have equal rights under the law. I simply do not agree that the word "marriage" should be used to define what that law shall be called. I also do not agree with forcing any Bible-believing church to rewrite their beliefs to make gays feel better about themselves. If you can't feel validated and worthy on your own, with the sanction of the state, then you need psychological help that the church might be able to provide. So maybe visit one in a non-threatening, non-weapon-weilding way and talk to someone about your unresolved anger.
I guess I had more to say than I thought.

Hey, each of those could be a separate article!
I think a few random responses might be appropriate at this time:
On marxism: "What's yours is mine."
On Obama thug parade: "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges."
On David Brooks: "Eat me. Take Peggy Noonan with ya."
On Moderate Republicans and their new party: "Call it the McStain Party."
On Christmas Music in the stores: "tra la la la la"
On conceal carry: What's the most repeated joke by people with conceal carry licenses?
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours!"
On Intolerant Fox: "Tolerance is in the eye of the hypocrite."
On queer terrorists: That's gay.
Now go have a good day!

Thanks for the reference to Pat Buchanan's column. Great read. Wow, for someone who had little to say, you sure came through. I wish I could do that.
Moderate Republicans? Who came up with that anyway. It's the ridiculous, political correctness, abandon your principles crowd that got us to where we are today. We don't need more of it.
I agree. Go find your own party!
A fantastic piece by Mr Buchanan that really hits a home run, Meg! The one line that really hit home with me in that article was the quote by Wiston Churchill, "the philosophy of envy and gospel of greed." in describing socialism and the redistribution of wealth that it promotes. Granted that I don't agree with everything that Buchanan stands for but then if we all agreed on everything, life would get pretty boring pretty fast.
As for the story you saw regarding people being hauled in for questioning, I don't know if I saw that story too but I do seem to recall a story out there that seemed to give the impression that this was happening to a certain extent and I recall thinking to myself that I really hoped it was isolated and being severly downplayed and that the questioning was truely warranted.
Not too sure about David Brooks as I have pretty much tuned out of the news since the last couple weeks leading up to the election. (Call it a general weariness of the news) As for Peggy Noonan though I thought that about her for the last few years now.
On the moderate Republican's, I'm thinking the the true Republican's should take to the lifeboats and leave the sinking ship that is the GOP to the moderates. We are strong enough as a group to stand on our own as a third party and who knows...maybe even some of those who went Liberatarian may come back to work with us.
As for the holiday's, unfortunately I forsee a little tiff at our place as this Thanksgiving is being hosted by the family Socialist who is just thrilled to no end about Obama's election. I can definately forsee having to leave early to avoid saying something to a family memeber that I would most likely regret down the line. And I'm glad someone is enjoying the Christmas music 24/7 on that station cause all I have to say is "IT ISN'T EVEN THANKSGIVING YET!!!!!!!!!"
Gun laws...I believe in the Charlton Heston theory, "From my cold, dead hands!"
Yes, the liberal elite are really the intollerant ones, so long as you agree with them you are okay. Once you stray from the party line however, stand by to be demonized, castigated, threatened with loss of position. Lets face all they want is there power and for their minions to be good little mind-numbed robots doing exactly what they are told.
Once again Meg, keep fighting the good fight. I may not agree with everything you come up with (although the it is usually just to what degree more often than the core principal) but I will vigoursly defend your right to say it.
